3 cups soaked sago

2 medium-sized boiled potatoes

1 cup roasted grain paste

4 tablespoons rice flour

1 tablespoon cumin seeds

8-10 tablespoons of green chilies or red chilies

1 tablespoon salt

Half a teaspoon of sugar

Finely chopped cilantro

Half a lemon

Ghee / refined oil for frying

How To Make Sabudana Vada

Step 1

Make chili paste. Grate the potatoes by hand.

Combine soaked sago, grain paste, rice flour, chili paste, salt, sugar, cumin, and cilantro. Squeeze lemon on it.

Step 2

Gather with wet hands. If it feels very thick, add a little water and knead.

Step 3

Grease both hands or Thin vada should be made on plastic paper.

Step 4

Heat ghee or oil well. Fry on both sides till reddish.

Serve hot with coconut chutney or sweet curd. These Vada become crunchy.

Tips For Sabudana Vada

When making vada, add shingada flour if there is no rice flour.

If you don’t have both flours, add more potatoes and make vada.

However, these vada become soft. But better for less time.

These vada are enough to feed five to six people.
